Responsible Sourcing

Wax

Esprit de Ré candles are 100% sustainable and responsibly sourced. Our hand poured candles are free of petroleum, paraffin wax and animal fat. Our natural wax scented candles are produced using only 100% pure vegetable waxes, which helps them to burn brightly and cleanly and last up to 20% longer. We do not use palm oil and our candle ingredients do not cause or contribute to the destruction of tropical forests, loss of animal habitats or extinction of any species and are never tested on animals.

Fragrance Oils

We collaborate with multiple high-end fragrance houses in the European Union to create our bespoke scents. The fragrance oils are obtained from both natural and high-quality synthetic ingredients. Only phthalate-free fragrance oils are used, which means they are non-toxic to burn.

Wicks

We use only sustainable cotton core wicks. The metal bases that hold the wicks in place are recyclable in most territories.

Vessels + Boxes

We work with ceramic vessels. Our vessels can be reused and repurposed as pencil holders, planters, bathroom organizers, etc. We invite you to use your creativity on how to upcycle your empty vessel. We are keen to pass on your ideas to others, so let us know how you are reusing them.

We have made a conscious effort to reduce the paper products needed and offer you packaging that is eco-friendly and kind to our planet. All boxes are made of FSC paper and can be recycled. Instructions on how to use our candles responsibly can be found on the inside of the box reducing the unnecessary use of extra paper.

Shipping + Packaging

We do not use plastic when shipping our products - only cardboard boxes with paper packing. All materials are recyclable and biodegradable. We use FSC certified, responsibly sourced paper products, of the highest possible recycled content that we are able to source.
