Life's Passion

Charlotte Meunier is passionate about real estate. After spending 30 years in media she made the switch to a career in real estate and has no regrets. While not originating from Île de Ré she credits it to giving birth to her sense of family and where she met her other half, 32 years ago. Her house on the island is her paradise. Coming to the island regularly has become essential for her, just like the air she breathes.

My man, my island, a glass of rosé

What is your greatest extravagance?

Not being young anymore

What is your current state of mind?

Concerned (I write these words from Paris)

When and where were you happiest?

I try to be happy at least once a day, so this lunchtime, when I had lunch alone with my son

Where would you most like to live?

In a city by the water, with my lover

What is your most precious possession?

The keys to my home

What do you like most about your friends?

Their sense of humor and that they don't take themselves too seriously

Who is your fictional hero?

The anti-heroes

Who are your heroes in real life?

The real heroes, those who save lives

What is your motto in life?

The softer I pedal, the further I go

What is your favorite smell?

Bread toasting

What smell do you associate with your fondest childhood memory?

The golden, tender and hot piece of toast, grilled and buttered by my grandmother

Do you have a secret place on Ile de Re?

A tiny piece of land, covered with sand at low tide and water at high tide. Resting my towel is an exercise as perilous as it is ephemeral

"Happiness is lunch with my son"
